  Elijah Fitch moved from Norwalk, Connecticut to Amenia, Dutchess Co., New York before April 1804. His daughter Maria, was buried there. He then moved to Otsego Co., New York after April 1804. He appears to have moved to Bradford Co., Pennsylvania between 1830-40. It appears he lived in Canton, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania in the 1840 Census, near his daughter Hannah and her husband, Samuel Fitch IV. The Stephen Fitch in Canton at that time appears to be his son. The only Elijah Fitch in the 1830 census which appears to be him is Elijah Fitch living in Otsego, Otsego Co., New York. Other families moved to Otsego County, N.Y. then to Bradford Co., PA. A Buckingham Fitch lives in the same town. Elijah had an older brother Buckingham, who died young. The Buckingham in Otsego is very likely related to Elijah [2]
