PORTSMOUTH - Emma A. (Eveleth) Miller, 83, wife of Robert S. Miller, of 3 Freedom Circle, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at the Edgewood Centre.
She was born in East Providence, R.I., on June 20, 1921, the daughter of the late Edgar F. and Grace G. (Budlong) Eveleth. She grew up and attended schools in Chatham, Mass. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School, in Boston, Mass., and served her nursing apprenticeship at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Brighton, Mass.
She was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Hospital and also at St. Ann?s Home in Dover in the critical care unit.
She was an avid reader and loved to walk.
Besides her husband of 45 years, survivors include her son Paul E. Murphy of Eliot, Maine; daughter Marilyn "Murf" Mosher of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren, Bradley Fuller and his wife, Agnes, of Newmarket, and their children, Christopher and Andrew, Michael Fuller of Rochester, and his son, Dalton, Leeann Fuller of Portsmouth and her daughter, Lindsey, Kim Love and her husband, Victor, of Portsmouth, and their children, Ashley, Nic, Jonothan and Alexander, Lisa Delisle and her husband, Rick, of Wakefield, and their children, Zack, Cecily and Haley, Jennifer Will and her husband, Ray, of Portsmouth, Jake Murphy of Cambridge, Vt., Jessica Murphy of Gales Ferry, Conn., and Alexandra Murphy of York, Maine; her brother, Lloyd Morrison of Milwaukee, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Robert Murphy in 1967 and daughter Joanne M. Jameson in 2002.
