| Obituary - KIRKLAND, Henry Curtis, Jr. 92, of Concord, passed away Thursday, Jan. 29th. He died quietly in his sleep surrounded by his family. Henry grew up in Lexington, MA and later settled in Concord, MA. The son of Henry Kirkland Sr. and Grace Thomas he was the oldest son of 13 children. Henry served in the army during WWII. In 1953, Henry founded Kirkland and Shaw Plumbing and Heating. Henry was committed to serving Bustins Island, ME, his summer home since 1947. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Christiana (Betty) (Jellis). Father of Stephen C. Kirkland (and wife Theodora Martin), Deborah A. Kirkland (and husband Rod McLeod), Denise K. Gardner (and husband Brad Gardner), and Annette Bush (and husband Paul Bush). Grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of 13. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Survived by siblings, Robert Kirkland, Frank Kirkland, and Beverly (Kirkland) McLean. Evening calling hours, Friday, Feb. 6, 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Celebration of Life, Saturday, Feb. 7, 10:30am. Both will be held at Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON, MA. Interment private.
